How I Fixed My Writing and Doubled My Sales
You know that feeling when you’re reading a book, and you have to read the same sentence five times because it was boring you to death?
Yeah… that was my writing. But honestly? I didn’t really care — I figured “Well, my product is great, why wouldn’t people buy it??”
Boy, I was wrong, DEEPLY wrong… Turns out, my writing was the equivalent of a toddler trying to explain quantum physics to a dog and a disabled duck… It wasn’t going well. AT ALL.
Don’t Repeat The Mistake I Make…
My product was perfect.
Seriously. I had worked so hard on it, and I figured it was only a matter of time before the sales rolled in.
I mean, why wouldn’t they? It was everything they needed!
But the sales?
Well, let’s just say they weren’t exactly flying in… I stared at my screen in frustration, refreshing the sales page, hoping something would change.
It didn’t.
The product I was so proud of was being completely ignored. I couldn’t figure it out…
I was DESPERATE, and I knew I had to change something, and I had to do it fast.
And so I did.
I started focusing on ‘how’ I was saying things, not just ‘what’ I was selling.
I made a few tweaks here and there and I made my writing feel more like a conversation—shorter sentences, a dash of personality, a bit of humor and suddenly…
BOOM!—my sales doubled!!!
The product didn’t change. The audience didn’t change. The only thing that changed? My words.
I started writing in a way that actually connected with people, and it was just like a magic trick. ZIP, ZAP, SOLD!
Turns out, even the best product in the world won’t sell if your writing bores people to death.
“How Can I Actually Write Words That Sell?”
First off, you don’t need to be the next Hemingway to get people excited about what you’re offering.
Writing isn’t about sounding fancy or using big, impressive words…
…No, no no! It’s way simpler than you think. You just need to sound like a human!!!
Here’s how:
- Write like you’re talking to a friend: No complicated words, no fancy stuff, keep it simple and concise!
- Inject personality: People buy from people. Don’t be afraid to show your sense of humor or add a bit of flair. If they like you, they’ll buy from you!
- Show them the benefits: No one buys a product just because it’s cool. They buy because it solves a problem or fills a need. So, tell them how your product makes their life easier, happier, or better.
These simple shifts in your writing can transform how people respond to your message—and that’s how you turn words into sales.
